Farmgirl Gourmet turns 20 years old in October! I still can’t believe it’s been that long. I remember the day that I decided to buy the domain and started my Blogger blog (WordPress’s predecessor). I wasn’t sure if anyone would read it, but I knew I had to make it for the friends and family who were always asking me for recipes and farm updates.
In 2013, I took a bit of a hiatus to launch my spice company, Spiceology, and the food blog took a back seat. Don’t get me wrong, I tried to juggle both, but the spice company ultimately won and FG was on its own. But this little corner of the internet waited patiently for me to come back to it. Over the past 5 years, I’ve revamped this site, giving it a fresh new look, updating old recipes, and started creating new ones again. This is my creative outlet and I truly love what I do.
This list of the most popular recipes is compiled based on what my readers love the most, from hundreds of 5-star reviews to the most-viewed recipes on the site. I’ve added them in categories to make it easy for you to find the perfect recipe! I hope you find your new favorite in here!

Top 3 Most Loved Recipes
Buttermilk Cornbread
I created this recipe when we lived on the farm, many years ago. It is the perfect combination of moist and flavorful, and it comes out perfect every time. It’s my go-to recipe when I make chili and I especially love making it for Thanksgiving stuffing. With millions of views, I think it will quickly become your favorite too.
Homemade Hamburger Helper
This tried-and-true weeknight recipe has hundreds of 5-star reviews and was first published over a decade ago. I created this recipe to replicate the boxed version using wholesome pantry ingredients while still keeping the nostalgic flavor.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread
This recipe is new on the scene and has generated a lot of attention in a short period of time. It’s so simple to make and you don’t need to be a seasoned bread baker to make it. I wanted to create a simple recipe for a sweetened artisan bread because I love toast in the morning. It’s a fan favorite and I think you’ll enjoy it too!
Dinner Recipes
Ground Beef Stroganoff
Coming off the heels of Homemade Hamburger Helper is this simple recipe for beef stroganoff. I created this recipe to feed my young family on a budget. It comes together in 30 minutes or less and can feed a crowd easily. I love how simple it is to make and I think you will too.
Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken Drumsticks
I wanted to make a crock pot dinner with Asian-inspired flavor that was easy, delicious, and economical. Serve this simple recipe with steamed rice and a side veggie.
Easy Alfredo Sauce
The name says it all. I created this easy weeknight alfredo sauce using cream cheese and lots of fresh parmesan. It’s the perfect accompaniment to hot cooked pasta, spread on pizza, or used as a dip for breadsticks. It’s not traditional Alfredo, but it’s great in a weeknight pinch everytime.
Pulled Pork Sliders
This is one of my favorite summer recipes. The pork shoulder is slow smoked and drenched in BBQ sauce before being piled onto slider rolls with a crunchy tart slaw. I love how simple it is, yet complex in flavor. This is also a great recipe for game day!
Baked Salmon in Parmesan Cream
I went through a phase where I was eating only Keto. That’s when I created this recipe, but I assure you, you don’t need to be on a low-carb diet to enjoy this incredibly flavorful salmon dish. The parmesan cream is decadent and loaded with flavor.
Dessert Recipes
Soft Ginger Cookies
I created this recipe because of my absolute obsession with bakery-style ginger cookies. I have to buy one whenever I see one. This recipe replicates that soft and chewy version perfectly and is a staple in my cookie jar all year long. Don’t omit the crystallized ginger inside or the sanding sugar on top – they are a game changer.
The Best Carrot Cake
This is my sister-in-law’s award winning recipe for Carrot Cake. She was gracious enough to share it with me over a decade ago. It’s so great that it was even featured in Where Women Cook magazine in 2012. It’s moist, flavorful, and the cream cheese icing is divine.
Side Dish Recipes
Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli
I grew up eating steamed (and sometimes boiled) broccoli with a side of mayonnaise to make it taste better. I wanted to create a recipe that was flavorful, easy, and weeknight dinner friendly. This roasted broccoli recipe is just that. It has so much flavor, is cooked unattended while you make the main course, and kid-friendly. It’s a family favorite and I hope it will be for yours too!
Slow Cooker Baked Beans
I created this recipe when we lived on the farm. Bake then I made it in the oven (and you can too), but modified it to make it even easier by using the crock pot. This is an easy recipe to dress up canned baked beans and make them even better and more flavorful with pantry staples. Serve them up all summer long with your favorite barbecue.
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
Ok, this is not a side, but it deserves an honorable mention. I created this recipe for Super Bowl a few years ago and let me tell you – we gobbled them up faster than you can say touchdown! They are so easy and so tasty that they should be on your appetizer list year round – not just game day!
Beverage Recipes
Homemade Cranberry Juice
This homemade fresh cranberry juice recipe was originally posted over a decade ago and still receives tons of pageviews every fall and winter when cranberries are in season. It’s a simple recipe and makes a tart and slightly sweet juice that’s perfect for sipping or using as a mixer in cocktails. It’s truly delicious.
Kahlua & Coke
I made this recipe many years ago for Kahlua brand and it’s still to this day a reader fave. It’s the perfect summer sipper and is so simple to make. If you’re a Colorado Bulldog cocktail fan – it’s easy to add a splash of cream to create that classic drink.
