Ingredients in Sweet Potato Mash
- Sweet Potatoes or yams that are cubed, boiled, and riced for a smooth consistency. If you don’t have a potato ricer, I highly recommend it. For around $25 you’ll be thankful you did it for years to come.
- Butter – I used unsalted butter in this recipe to control the sodium after the potatoes are prepared.
- Cream – this recipe calls for heavy cream, but you can sub half & half.
- Spices – I used Spiceology Purple Haze which is a powdered vegetable seasoning that contains beets, carrots, and spices. You can omit this and just add salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Maple Syrup – make sure you use good quality maple syrup and not pancake syrup as they are not the same.
- Pecans – toasted pecan pieces add texture and crunch to this recipe, you can omit or sub toasted or candied walnuts as well with delicious results.
