Simply Delicious Guacamole. This super simple recipe makes a quick and super tasty guacamole recipe. Not overly complicated, just avocados, tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, fresh lime juice, salt, and a pinch of red chile flakes. Dunk your favorite tortilla chip or serve it on tacos.
When it comes to guacamole, I am somewhat of a purest. Don’t get me wrong if you put a bowl of fancy pants guac in front of me, I will put the hurt on it, but when I make it at home, the simpler the better. My recipe is easy to make with ingredients you most likely have in your fridge and pantry.
You may be asking yourself: “Self, why did she leave the pit in the guacamole?”. Well here’s your answer – Avocados contain an enzyme called polyphenol oxidase, which when in contact with oxygen in the air, causes avocados to turn brown. Read more at HuffPost Taste .
Ingredients
Simple ingredients make the best guacamole. Avocados are so creamy on their own that they really just need a few extras to make them shine.
- Avocados – 3 ripe avocados
- Garlic – fresh is best, but you can also use a good quality granulated or powdered garlic
- Tomatoes – chopped fresh tomatoes are optional, but add texture to the creamy guac
- Cilantro – fresh minced cilantro is always a great guac add in
- Lime – fresh squeezed lime juice will keep the guacamole from turning brown and adds the necessary hit of acid
- Red Pepper Flakes – optional, but delish in my opinion
- Kosher Salt

Great photo and I love how simple this is!
I never think of putting garlic in guac. Maybe I should. I sure have plenty of avocados around here.
We eat A LOT of guacamole in my house–I love it!! I also recently learned about putting the pit in the guacamole–great tip to know!
I love avocados and I can eat my weight in guacamole! Most of the time I make it just like you do.

Oh boy, can I put a hurtin on a good guac too! Love this. Simple and easy!
Since you love the avo sandwich with mayo…try whipping in a little mayo into your guac. It also helps keep it green and tastes awesome.
simple is good.
Simple is often the best! Great recipe.
I am a purist when it come to my guacamole as well. I will totally eat bacon in it, but when I make it, it is simple and I love it. I am addicted to avocados, there I said it.

I’m such a guacamole fan. I honestly cannot ever turn it down. EVER. In fact, my daughter is the same. She takes little snack packs of guac to school at least 3 times a week. Can’t wait to try yours
How awesome. My kids could take it or leave it. Which – if you do the math – means more for me. 🙂 Thanks for commenting Carrian!
