Instructions
Pulverize the lemonheadcandies using a blender or food processor until you have a sandy texture.
Empty the lemongelatin packets into a large bowl.
Pour the boilingwater into the gelatin and stir constantly to combine. Let mixture cool for about 5-6 minutes.
Add the citronvodka to the gelatin mixture and stir to combine. Pour into plastic shot cups or into a mini muffin pan. Refrigerate until firm.
Sprinkle the tops with some of the lemonheadcandysand. Serve immediately.
Notes
*Cooling matters: Let the gelatin mixture cool 5 to 6 minutes before adding the vodka. Adding vodka to piping hot gelatin cooks off some of the alcohol and dulls the lemon flavor.**Dissolve completely: Stir the gelatin and boiling water for a full 2 minutes, until no granules remain. Undissolved gelatin settles into a rubbery layer at the bottom of each shot.***Setting time: Chill at least 2 to 4 hours, or overnight for the firmest texture. Mini shot cups set faster than a mini muffin pan. Yield: Makes about 40 shots in 1 ounce cups, or about 20 in 2 ounce cups.****Do not freeze: Freezing breaks down the gelatin, and the shots turn watery once thawed.*****Please enjoy responsibly. These are for adults 21 and over.
