Today we are celebrating our Virtual Potluck Holiday Party! Everyone is bringing some sort of deliciousness to the table. There is a stipulation….it must contain Barenjager Honey Liqueur! How fun is that?
The fine folks at Barenjager graciously sent us all a bottle of the Honey Liqueur (Thank you!) I thought it would be fun to make a savory & sweet appetizer with it. I’m sure there will be several cocktails and you need to have a little sumpin sumpin in the tum or the party will get out of hand in a flash.
This shrimp cocktail is quick to make, super chic and it tastes amazing. Like really amazing. Give it a shot for your New Years Eve party. If you don’t want to serve them in individual glasses, they would be just as gorgeous skewered on a platter with the super easy boozy cocktail sauce in the center.

Ingredients
Shrimp Marinade
3 tablespoons Barenjager Honey Liqueur
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1/2 jalapeno, minced
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
16 large shrimp, tails on and deveined
cilantro for garnish
Honey Cocktail Sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/8 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Barenjager Honey Liqueur
1/4 teaspoon Sriracha Sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Directions
1 Mix all of the marinade ingredients in a medium bowl and add the shrimp, toss to coat and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
2 In a small bowl, mix the cocktail sauce ingredients to blend. Divide between 8 small serving glasses or dishes (or serve in a bowl with shrimp around).
3 Preheat a grill pan over high heat, coat with cooking spray and add the shrimp, shaking off the marinade. Sear for about 1 minute and flip them over. Heat until just cooked through, 3 minutes. Remove and allow to cool before serving. Arrange 2 shrimp on each of the 8 serving glasses and serve chilled or room temperature. Garnish with a sprig of cilantro.
