I love Grapefruit! Yep, it’s true. I love it. I love eating it, I love juicing it. I’m in love with Williams-Sonoma’s new line of kitchen soaps and cleaning supplies that smells like…..you guessed it – Grapefruit.
The other night I had this epiphany that fresh grapefruit juice paired with Whipped Cream Vodka might be an interesting combination. Boy was I ever right! This Granita was refreshing and VERY tasty. Definitely worth a shot in my opinion. Actually, I’ll be making more later today. 🙂 Enjoy!
You need 2 cups of fresh grapefruit juice, about 3 grapefruits.
Pour the juice into a non-reactive saucepan over medium heat.
Add 1/3 to 1/2 cups of sugar.
Stir to incorporate and allow the mixture to simmer just until all of the sugar is dissolved in the juice.
Pour into an 8 inch pan and pop it in the fridge to cool. Once it’s cool add 1/3 cups Whipped Cream Vodka. Place in the freezer and allow to chill for 1 hour.
Using a fork, scrape the slightly frozen juice mixture from the edges to the center. Repeat this process every hour for the next 3 hours.
