Kitchen Reveal – Phase 1

Updated On: Sep 05, 2023

I know, I know.  I made you all promise after promise to show you pics of the kitchen.  I had great intentions on getting the update done quick, but the best laid plans don’t always turn out like you want them to.  Today is the day, though, that you get to see the Elephant transform into a Swan  (in my humble opinion).  All of the cabinets have been been painted and although it’s hard to tell that the uppers were, they are actually a couple of shades different but still white.  The color names are Glass of Milk (Martha Stewart for Home Depot) and Bitter Chocolate (Behr for Home Depot).  Yum, doesn’t it make you hungry?  The appliances are all GE Cafe (thanks Honey).  All of the drawer and cabinet hardware has been replaced with new pulls and knobs.  Down the road a bit we will build a surround for the fridge, remove the tile floor and see what surprises await and also swap out the counter tops with some sort of solid surface (I already have my eye on a particular one).  For now, this is the kitchen.  I hope you like what we’ve done.

Here’s the Before’s to refresh your memory…..

And………Drum Roll Please!!

The walls got a coat of “Sandy Beaches”, the soffet over the sink had the wallpaper removed and painted as well.  The cabinets went from “Elephant Gray” to “Glass of Milk” and “Bitter Chocolate”.  The lights were all changed above the sink as well.
A little side view of the cabinets.  The counters will eventually get replaced and subway tiles will line the backsplash.  Look at the pretty range!  I HEART IT!
I still need to swap out the range hood.  I haven’t found “the one” yet.
A look from the other side of the kitchen.  Loving the French doored fridge.  It’s much nicer than our old side-by-side.
I love this range.  It’s a-w-e-s-o-m-e!  It has a convection oven that is a baker’s dream!
Ok, I know that taking a pic of my faucet is cheesy, but I just love it.  We had a pull out nozzle on our last faucet which was pretty nice, but not very fun to put back.  This, on the other hand, is super easy and gets the job done PRONTO!

Well, that’s it.  The Kitchen Update as it is for now.  Hopefully we’ll be able to do new counter tops and flooring in the near future, but I can live with this for a while.  I hope you like it!  I know I sure do!
