Hi, I'm so glad you stopped by!  My name is Heather and I'm the wife to an amazing man and mother to 2 super talented kids!  I am a stay at home domestic engineer and fill my days with recipe developing in my 100 year old kitchen.

I started Farmgirl Gourmet in 2006 as a way to stay connected with friends and family that lived out of state and to give them the latest on our farm antics.  In the beginning Farmgirl Gourmet was updated now and then with great recipes I'd conjured up and photos of our 20 acre piece of dirt located in beautiful Eastern Washington State.  

Nowadays it's mostly food and a little dash about my organic raised bed garden and a pinch of renovating my 1912 Craftsman.  We no longer own the 20 acres of dirt, but that doesn't change me from being a farmgirl at heart.  Living on a farm for 8 years brought me back to eating off the land and being surrounded by farmers also made me eat locally from the abundance of farm raised meat.  Today, I carry on with my love of eating delicious food from my large garden, buying local and sustainable meat and produce and always making it delicious.
