Truvia World Food Programme and an Announcement

Truvia World Programme | farmgirlgourmet.com

You all know how passionate I am about sustainable, homegrown and local, right?  When I select brands to work with, knowing their business practices is one of the main deciding factors on whether it’s a yes or no.

Truvia® Brand reached out to me and asked if I’d like to work with them for the next year sharing recipes using Truvia® products.  To start the conversation, they first sent the infographic above along with a statement that my vision was similar to theirs: share how sustainable practices can help change our world.  In my opinion, this infographic is pretty telling about what type of company Truvia® is and why I quickly said Yes.

The Announcement: Each month, for the next 12 months, I will be sharing a delicious recipe using one of the many Truvia® Brand products as part of the Truvia® Kitchen Cabinet.  Truvia® is a great tasting, zero-calorie sweetener made from the best part of the stevia leaf.  As part of the Truvia® Kitchen Cabinet I will be sharing how you can switch from sugar or artificial sweeteners in your baked goods, cocktails and coffee etc.  I hope you’re as excited as I am to make recipes using Truvia® in place of refined white and brown sugar.  Just think, fewer calories, same great taste!  I may even toss in a few gluten-free goodies for all of you who want or need a gluten-less option.  It’s going to be delicious and I am so excited!

Information about the Truvia® Sustainability Program from Truvia.com

  • From the start, we wanted the Truvia brand to be built upon a foundation of sustainability and transparency.
  • It has taken four years to develop the Truvia sustainability program, and in the last two years of implementation we have reached a number of key milestones. In the area of responsible sourcing, we developed and launched the stevia sustainable agricultural standard in October 2011. This standard is the first for growing stevia and is setting the bar for responsibility across the industry.
  • Sustainability is not an adjunct or add-on; it is how we do business.
  • From Field to Table. Sustainability is a journey that is taking us around the world, and while we continue to learn, we are proud of the progress we’ve made.

Can you see why I said Yes?  Look for deliciousness starting in November with the first recipe for a classic Italian dessert using pumpkin that will be perfect for your Thanksgiving dessert table.

Don’t be fooled by clever marketing campaigns. Truvia is poison to your body.
