Glampin, Campfires and Vino

Updated On: Oct 16, 2012

If you know me, you know that I own a 1947 Main-Line Silver Lark travel trailer.  It’s old, it’s crusty, it’s been modified, but it’s only one of 6 known to exist (another just surfaced the other day), but I love the darned thing with all of my being!  Anyway, I’m about to hitch up the old girl and hit the road.  Today I spent part of the day cleaning and getting her ready to hit the road next Thursday for the 3rd Annual Farm Chicks Glampin Weekend.  I can’t believe it’s almost here and am so excited to have 4 days of no boys, no kids, no pets….just me, my frilly trailer and 20+ of my girls.  We will be sitting around the campfire sharing a glass of wine or 7 and just enjoying life.  It’s an amazing weekend and I never want it to end, but by Sunday I’m always missing my family, my squishy bed and puppy kisses.

If you’ve never heard of The Farm Chicks Show, then you should check it out here.  It’s a super fun weekend of antiquing that is out of this world.  Vendors come from near and far and it’s overwhelming, amazing, delicious, inspiring, fantastical and you can’t walk away without something in your arms or a million ideas swirling in your head.  I have gone to The Farm Chicks show every year since it was held in the Grange of the small town of Fairfield, WA.  My one wish is that I was crafty enough to have a booth at the show.  I tossed around selling gourmet marshmallows one year, but never took the leap.  Anyway, this is where I’ll be this coming weekend, hopefully without restriction from the Debt Card Police.

While I’m “glampin” I’ll be cookin up a storm over an open fire.  On the docket for certain is a cobbler of some fruit fashion.  I’m also considering making Monkey Bread in the Dutch Oven.  I have lots of other foodie goodness swirling in my little brain.  I need to make a list.  Anyway, more pics and info to come on the “glampin” trip.  My hope is to blog while I’m at the camp.  That’s if I can mooch some power off my neighbor.

Until then.   Happy trails to you……
