Surprise Blondie Buttons

So the other day I was blabbing away with my Twitter friends, well one in particular named Barbara.  She has an unbelievable blog at, you should pay her a visit but make sure you have something to wipe the drool.  Her recipes are amazing!!  Anyway, she and I were bantering back and forth about the amazingness of Rolo’s and trying to figure out what we could do with them besides just inhaling the package.

Later that night I found myself in the candy isle at the supermarket staring down the box of Rolo’s.  Buy them or not.  Of course I had to.  They were buy 2 get 2 free.  Duh!  I was nice, though, and gave 2 of the candies to my son.  Ok, so after snarfing one whole package of them I decided to hide the second one.  It wasn’t until today I figured I’d better bake with them before the midnight cravings hit and I devoured it.  I kept visualizing them snug in a blondie.  They definitely don’t need to compete with more chocolate so blondies were the perfect capsule.  The end result – perfect bites of brownie and candy that had the family peeps swarming around me like angry bees!

I promise you won’t be disappointed and will give you one tidbit of advice.

Make them when you’re home alone.  :)
